My first lunch with work colleagues: soup curry! We ate at the nearby Soup Curry restaurant. It was called wafu tsukune curry. The meal was spicy, flavoursome and filling. A few soup flavours were offered – chicken, pork, vegetarian. It is a Japanese style curry soup, with various points for choice.

  • First choice – standard issue (stock) or coconut milk.
  • Second choice-  extra meat, extra vegetables
  • Third choice – choose your level of spicy hotness, on a scale of 0 – 20.

When served we saw moving parts in the soup.  They were Bonito flakes, which seemed to be waving in the heat.

I chose a heat level of 6, Monsieur Contrôleur went for 8 and a Japanese colleague went for 17! We were all satisfied with our orders but we contrôleurs thought we would crank it up a bit next time!
