This term of endearment is for my husband – who likes to be in charge. He certainly is in charge of some things, but – he calls me Madame Controleur! We use it as an excuse for exchanging some French phrases. In truth, we are probably both used to being in charge.

It is an affectionate tussle used when calling the other to account in “over-controlling” moments. I include this because some who know us, have asked about this terminology which they find a little disconcerting. He is my “Monsieur Controleur”, not a fat-controller nor a bad controller. We keep each other in check.
