The two hundredth post is here. Those posts have covered all sorts of topics from all sorts of sources. There have been highlights and lowlights – but I’m still here. In two hundred more, where will I be? More things to do, places to see and people to meet. Will you be one of them?
The intentions were good
The blog started out as an avenue for exploring flexible lifestyles. It has done that – although there have been some diversions along the way. It started with a snow-change, investigating the ski resort lodge manager option. Then came the dreams of snow and Japan. Like all good plans – some come undone. That was one.
Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.
~ John Lennon
Unexpected change
My health has thrown up some hurdles that I have managed to negotiate so far. I am back on track now and working on a short contract in a professional services firm. The work is challenging, and the position is temporary which all bodes well for maintaining flexibility.
Men are disturbed not by things, nut by the view which they take of them.

Making choices at the fork in the road
Meetings with people pursuing life more flexibly have been good to share. Although there are many more to come, there have been interesting observations on how this can be achieved. A flexible attitude is a given. Knowing what you want or perhaps what you don’t want is critical. With those in place, your mindset is central to keeping you on track, finding and following the track you choose from the options presented along the way.
To succeed, we must first believe that we can.
~ Michael Korda
A companionable journey
The snow is on its way, and we will soon make our way up the mountain to our resort home. This time we’ll be in an apartment – managing a lodge of two! My companion through these two hundred blogs and everything else that’s happened, is the inimitable Monsieur Contrôleur. Having someone to share the ups and downs with was a relief. His steady presence was appreciated even though I know he found the last six months pretty tough. Now he gets to return to his favourite place, Mt Hotham.
Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.
~ Zig Ziglar
What will be in the next two hundred?
I am keen to interview more people who live flexibly. I will share more from the snow-changers but if you would like to share your story … let me know! Email me and we can work out a way to do that.
Thanks for your support
It’s great to have interest in this blog from those who subscribe or read it. Thank you! I hope I’ll get more people who will reach out to me with things about flexible lifestyles that may interest them. Blogs work better when there is two-way communication. Here’s hoping to hear from more people in the next two hundred posts!
