2020 has begun. A new decade. And yet, it is just a another day. But a brand new one. A day that starts a brand new year.  A day that is as significant (or insignificant) as YOU make it.

What makes new year significant for you?

Fail to plan, plan to fail
If you don’t have a plan, you are likely to fail. Planning provides the opportunity to think about the future. It is an opportunity to postulate about what you hope to do and to achieve. If you have a plan you formalise your intention.

Sometimes your plan can just be a conversation. But a conversation with another. An ‘other’ who may hold you accountable. Someone who will nag you about your follow-through on that conversation. They will provide you with subtle (or not so subtle) reminders about the intention(s) you stated.

Too many plans
You can have too many plans. You can want to do everything. Ideas abound. The activities required to achieve them can be overwhelming. So, sometimes we need to prioritise, and focus on the most important one(s) for us.

2020 priorities
So in this new decade, our priorities are to set ourselves up for the next ‘phase of life’. That means getting our lifestyle set up the way we want it – our lifestyle. For us it includes house set-up, work arrangements, health and well-being routines. Look-out! Here comes overwhelm! So, I’m starting with setting up some healthy routines in the early part of the year, before taking on some of the more complex issues.

What about you? What are your priorities for the next decade?
