We’re off again
We return to Japan. Mr Contrôleur and I are working another season in Niseko. I start next week, he starts in a month. We have completed the rounds of family get-togethers, catch-ups with friends and home admin duties.

To travel is to take a journey into yourself.

Even though this is round two for me (three for he), it’s an opportunity for a fresh start. This time will be different – starting with a new team yet enjoying the familiarity of routines. It’s an opportunity to do it better. To rediscover old friends and meet others anew. And there are always the challenges a new season brings.

We’re ready to go.

To the land of the rising sun
Back to Japan – to enjoy their culture, albeit embedded in an international tourist environment – to revisit their polite way of being, their neat and organised ways. Back to savour sushi and sashimi, soup curry and sake! Back to look at Mt Yotei every day – and take in the increasing snow depths.

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.
